ATA's Bullying Prevention Classes are making Leaders for Life in Champaign, IL

A few hundred kids now have increased their confidence through verbal and physical skills designed to combat bullying, thanks to the Olweus Bullying Prevention seminars hosted by Newberry's ATA Black Belt Academy. While these seminars focus on self-defense tactics designed to prevent bullying, very little actually involves karate chops and fierce yelling. Powerful mental skills are also practiced, teaching kids how to react to different bullying situations and how to avoid possible confrontations before they get physical. Master Newberry encourages her students to share these effective skills and teach others how to be safe in the community. That's Leadership NOW! Watch the video or read the story for "Standing Up to Bullies" (02.13.11/ WCIA3 News, Champaign). Thanks for the great work, instructors of Leaders for Life Martial Arts!
